FAQs

Do I need a referral to see a sports chiro?

You do not need a referral to see one of our sports chiropractors. Although, if you would like to claim the cost of your appointment through Workcover or see one of our sports chiro’s under the Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) program, which entitles you to get a Medicare rebate for up to 5 sessions, you will need a referral from a GP.

Should I bring my x-rays or scans?

Yes. If you have x-rays or scans (MRIs) for your problem then please bring them to your appointment. These scans are useful in providing detail and clarity about your condition and will help your sports chiro in managing and treating it.

Do I need to bring my Medicare or health fund cards?

Balmain Sports Chiro offers on-the-spot claims with all major health funds. Please bring your health fund card so we can scan it and you can receive your rebate.

How do I make payment?

All card and cash payments are accepted. Payment is due at the end of every consultation.

Should I come to my appointment early?

We do our best to stay on time for each consultation. In most cases we run on time, so please come a few minutes early to your appointment to avoid any delays.

How many times will I have to come?

The condition of each patient is different and recovery and rehabilitation length varies depending on the needs of the patient and injury. At your appointment, our sports chiro’s will explain the prognosis and expected recovery length. To relieve pain and help patients manage their own recovery outside of appointments, our sports chirp’s provide patients with self-management exercises and techniques, advice and education.

When should I see a chiropractor?

You should visit a chiropractor when you first notice a problem in your spine, muscle or joints or get an injury. This is important as the information about the condition or pain is the most accurate in the initial phases of pain. When problems are left for too long our memory and ability to recall and give accurate information diminishes.
